Information about TICA registration and the Maine Coon breed.

TICA Registration

KittyPurfection is a TICA-registered cattery. TICA (The International Cat Association) is one of the world's largest genetic registries of pedigreed and household pets. TICA registration means our cats and kittens meet breed standards and come from documented lineage.

All of our kittens come with TICA registration paperwork. This provides you with documentation of your kitten's pedigree and ensures the quality and authenticity of your Maine Coon.

The Maine Coon Breed

Maine Coons are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds. They are known for their luxurious coats, tufted ears, bushy tails, and expressive eyes. Beyond their striking appearance, Maine Coons are friendly, social, and intelligent. Many owners describe them as having "dog-like" qualities — they often enjoy playing fetch, following their people around, and forming strong bonds with their families.

Maine Coons mature more slowly than other breeds. Our kittens go home around 13-14 weeks to ensure they are properly socialized and developmentally ready for their new families. Owning a Maine Coon is a 10+ year commitment — we encourage anyone considering a kitten to research the breed thoroughly and be fully prepared for a new family member.

Responsible Breeding

We believe in responsible breeding practices. All of our breeding cats undergo health screening including FIV/FelV testing, annual echocardiograms, genetic testing for over 50 disorders, and hip evaluations. We do not sell breeding rights to the general public. Our focus is on placing healthy, well-socialized companion kittens with loving families.
